Membership Benefits

Members of the Silk Association of Great Britain (SAGB) receive quarterly trade statistics covering the import and export of silk raw materials, yarns, fabrics, garments and accessories over the last three years. The figures are reported by tariff code and are split into intra-EU trade and trade with the rest of the world. Members also receive Serica, the quarterly newsletter.

The Silk Association of Great Britain is a member of the International Silk Association and at present the chairman of the SAGB has a seat on its Executive Committee. Meetings of the International Silk Association are open to members of the Silk Association of Great Britain and the biennial Congress of the International Silk Association was held in Brighton in 1995.

The Silk Association of Great Britain is also a member of the British Apparel & Textile Confederation, the umbrella organisation of the UK apparel and textile industry. The British Apparel & Textile Confederation provides the Silk Association of Great Britain with a strong lobbying voice both nationally and within Europe, as well as seeking to support the industry generally through technological, human resource and environmental issues.
